Kenneth M. Ford, PhD

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, IHMC

Kenneth Ford is Founder and CEO of the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition (IHMC).  His research interests include AI, human-centered computing, and human healthspan, resilience, and performance. Dr. Ford is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of AI, a charter Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.  


Dr. Ford has served on the National Science Board, the Defense Science Board, the Air Force Science Advisory Board, the ODNI Advanced Technology Board, the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, and the NASA Advisory Council which he chaired.


Dr. Ford has received many awards and honors including the Doctor Honoris Causas from the University of Bordeaux, the Robert S. Englemore Memorial Award, the AAAI Distinguished Service Award, and NASA’s Distinguished Public Service Medal.  In 2020, Florida Trend Magazine named Ford one of its Living Legends.
