Accelerating the translation of geroscience into material and equitable gains in public health

Targeting Metabesity 2022, in its 5th edition, takes on one of the great healthcare challenges and opportunities of the 21st century:  the prevention or delay chronic diseases to achieve healthy longevity for all.

This complex objective now appears achievable, based on developments in geroscience in recent decades that suggest we may be able to delay, or even reverse, biological aging.  Success would not only be ‘priceless’ for patients and their families, but would help contain exploding healthcare costs, address a root cause of health inequities, create enormous economic opportunity, and promote social flourishing, in which the elderly are considered assets, not liabilities.  Science has produced abundant opportunities, but challenges abound in converting discoveries into products for the general population.

Join leaders in geroscience, and chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer, along with their peers in regulation, law, policy, industry, capital markets and other fields for a silo-busting brainstorming on how to accelerate the prevention of chronic diseases and extension of healthy longevity.
